This is another edition of a continuing series of artist profiles, covering all of the participants in the Ohm Resistance Subscription Series.
You were around for the original run of Dark Hop – give us your history with and perspective on the micro-genre?
I remember it being quite small, but personal. A lot of people spent the time getting to know each other .. helping each other out with small run releases. Some great releases .. Dijislov ‘Sicketating’, still sounds great now .. first release NOS ‘Not Otherwise Specified’, really sound. Some really good comp albums ‘Gone Too Far’, ‘Rise|Converge’, ‘Radius Suck’ . ..
You first appeared in 2000 in RISE|CONVERGE after leaving Ocosi – what was your motivation for creating this separate artist identity?
A Roland SP808
What is your favorite gig that you have played at Mothboy?
Bristol, Mr Wolf’s, 2008 .. might have been one of the last Mothboy gigs, surreal. I set up on the floor and not the stage, everything clicked, crowd was intense
You have been around since the beginning of Ohm Resistance, and were an integral part in its initial support structure. What is your favorite release from the label?
Gator Bait Ten ‘Harvester’ obviously
This is your first track back in a while – to all of our collective happiness! What are the future plans for the Moth?
No idea, the plan was never to bring “Moth” out of retirement but so far I have made a track and a remix for Ohm Res in the past year. Who knows? I am not a boy anymore so it will have to be a different name 🙂
CLUB NOTE: Ohm Resistance has released the very first Mothboy track, Angelique…and the very most recent, Ten Thousand Swerves
Available only on the OHM RESISTANCE SUBSCRIPTION SERIES
